Repairs:
All handpainted Z. Vex pedals are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for as long as I am on the planet. Due to the hand-painted nature of our products: colors, styles, and designs may vary. The finish may have naturally occurring flaws, which are not covered by warranty. Vexter series pedals (non hand-painted) carry a 2-year non-transferrable warranty against manufacturing defects. Our repair policy is as follows: Contact us FIRST before returning anything to get an RMA (Return to Manufacturer Authorization) number and return instructions. We will request a small payment for return shipping and handling. Paypal or Credit cards are okay but they have a small surcharge. Z.Vex Effects reserves the right to either repair or replace your pedal with one of equivalent value, at our discretion.
Please contact us at
or at 952-285-9545 before sending a pedal in for repair. We will fill you in
with the return insructions and assign you an RMA number. We will also be able
to help you with any questions you have.
*NOTE: The very FIRST thing you should do if you have any trouble with your pedal is to replace the battery with a fresh, just out of the package, new battery. You'd be surprised how many people send us their pedals swearing they're broken when all it needed was a fresh battery (and not one that you've pulled out of another pedal, mind you). Below are some of the more common problems people have. Most can easily be fixed without sending the pedal to us for repair:
| SYMPTOMS | POSSIBLE CAUSE | SOLUTION |
| The pedal sounds weak, silent, behaves oddly, or sequence is stuck at one step. Guitar signal is audible when the effect is bypassed. | Dead battery. | Replace battery. |
| Battery is good, but the effect will not turn on and the LEDs will not light. | 1) Battery clip
wire broken. 2) Stereo cord/plug is connected to input jack so battery is disconnected. |

| Power plate used, but effect won't work. Effect may make popping noise when turned on. | 1) 9V connector
shorting inside. 2) 9V connector disconnected inside and shorting against jack. |
1) Wrap 9V connectors
with tape to insulate. 2) Reconnect 9V connectors and wrap with tape to insulate. |
| Fuzz Factory squeals, but no guitar is audible. Sequencer runs or other pedals appear to turn on, but no effected guitar is audible. Guitar is audible when the effects is bypassed. | Pedal is plugged in backwards. | Reverse input/output cords. |
| Copper plate on probe seems to have lost its sensitivity. | 1) Battery dead.
|
1) Replace with
9V alkaline-type. |
| Your older model Super Hard On (I believe around 2001 or before) suddenly doesn't work. | The transistor has blown due to a burst of static electricity. | To temporarily fix
the problem, replace the transistor with the one that is taped inside the
box. To permanently fix the problem, contact |
| Nano's red fuse light comes on when powered up. | If the Nano is in cooler environments (below 65 degrees F or 18 degrees C), it has trouble starting and the red fuse light comes on. | Let your Nano sit
for a couple minutes so that the fuse has a chance to cool and reset. With
the adapter plugged into the AC mains, plug the power cord into the Nano
and quickly check to see if the blue LED dims. If so, quickly unplug the
power supply from the back of the Nano. Immediately reconnect while watching
the blue power LED. If it dims again, repeat the process of unplugging and
reconnecting. It should work after a few tries. If you continue to have
trouble, contact |
