Data Sheet and Technical Specifications

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GUITAR EFFECT EVER CREATED

The Candela Vibrophase is an audio guitar effect that produces a mono output which creates a realistic 3D rotary speaker effect combined with phasing, wah, vibrato and tremolo effects. This hypnotic sound is produced using no batteries or power supply, merely a candle that drives two solar cells and a Stirling heat engine that spins an optical control disc whose design can be controlled by the user. The device is a beautiful brass sculpture that looks like nothing you've ever seen. It could be from the 1800s, upon first examination.

INSPIRATIONAL ART THAT IS THE CENTERPIECE OF YOUR ROOM

This product is an inspirational device designed to bring out the best in a musician. It's Stirling engine makes a pleasing mechanical noise and the soft glow of the candle sets the mood. The high brass spheres, curves, cylinders and hard edged lines combined with the gold plated Stirling engine's pumping glass cylinders and pulsating drive rods, rockers and spinning flywheel create an experience that can't easily be forgotten. The ability for the user to create his or her own custom optical modulation disc guarantees a sound that nobody else can get.  This is nothing like a stomp box with knobs.  It's a work of art that can be endlessly fine-tuned to achieve an original and unique texture.

A CANDLE-POWERED GUITAR EFFECT WITH SOLAR CELLS AND A MAGNET-CONTROLLED STIRLING HEAT ENGINE

The heart of the Candela is a tea light candle which operates up to 5 hours. The candle provides three crucial sources of energy:

  1. Power for the electronic effect via two high-efficiency solar cells.
  2. Power for the spinning modulation disc via a miniature Stirling heat engine.
  3. Signal light to activate the photocells in the audio circuit when it shines through the spinning modulation disc.

The disc can be designed by the user, or the included starter discs may be used. These are easily snapped into place on their mount and are adjusted to come to rest against the flywheel on the Stirling engine.  The candle is inserted and lit and adjusted to the proper height, the flywheel is spun, and the speed is adjusted using a large spherical magnet. The electronics package is adjusted to receive the proper amount of light, and the unit is ready for use.
